Discovery services sent drugs and experiments to China and India for testing.
A problem arose where individuals didn’t know how to communicate between experiments effectively; different types of media created inefficient work flows due to integration incompatibility.
Developed visual assay platform as a unique, gesture driven platform. The competition are using text, ELNs, and written communication. Visual Assay is a strong supporter of collaboration to maximize efficiency. Visual Assay are leveraging a different seamless interface and the tablet in a way no one else is.
The demo drew a very strong response and in turn got funding and set up an infrastructure. The rest of the industry is antiquated in compiling information from studies and putting them in a platform that others can easily use and understand. It is very time-consuming for scientists to document, transfer and send their findings in an effective manner.
VISUAL ASSAY HAS AN OVERLAY TO TAKE EXPERIMENTS AND LAY THEM OVER EACH OTHER USING THE SOFTWARE TO COMPARE QUICKLY. VISUAL ASSAY PUT THE ACTUAL DEVICE IN PEOPLE’S HANDS AND BEGAN TO RECEIVE STRONG INTEREST.
People are still using notebooks and compiling notes at the end of the day; this takes valuable time. If you leave out the detail and the electronic systems all that is left are glorified word documents, causing a costly loss in accuracy. It is important to have all the research for filing in a intellectual property format. Poorly kept notes can create high expenses.
The platform has to be easy to use in a lab; keyboards are incompatible with the many processes in a laboratory. It had to be simple and easy to enter information with gestures alone. This makes information accurate and opens the possibility of saving valuable time. A camera is also featured to record observations and promote accuracy.
Visual Assay is a product of Label Independent. Browser interface can communicate with any Visual Assay. The toolbar on the right side of the screen- can be designed and customized to many types of assays. Usage of a tablet interface allows your finger to drag and drop simply instead of tedious keyboard functions.
The user is able to assemble libraries to suit all needs required for data entry during experimentation. Data can be broken down into categories such as: Elements- thing being tested, Operations- the actions being taken during experimentation, Intermediate Operations- additional actions during experimentation, and Output- the data. A simplified example of this labeling processed can be expressed with baking bread: The dough is the element, baking is the operation and bread is the output. Physical work can be quantified to adjust any possible variables in the experiments. Libraries are constructed with elements and operations. Properties can be set to each individual component of the library.
AN INTEGRATED KEYBOARD, EXTERNAL STYLUS, OR VOICE RECOGNITION CAN BE USED FOR DATA ENTRY. NO NEED FOR TRANSLATIONS, VISUAL ASSAY CAN INTERPRET THE DATA THAT IS NOT EXPRESSED USING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. THE ABILITY TO DETERMINE AND UNDERSTAND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VARIABLES AS THE DATA IS GATHERED EXISTS TO BOOST EFFICIENCY.
Logging is automatically generated and is more complete than any other type of recording.
Clicking on a report will generate a full .pdf document capable of being shared and highlighting every step along the way. Experiments can be designed and then shared with any member of the team. Permissions can be added for the members of the team, perfect cooperation. You can see the progress of the different assays that others are sharing with you. Members can check off as they go through the steps. Note taking can be done verbally.
This process is applicable outside of just pharmaceuticals; it can be used in almost any industry. Asked to sign after every step- so you have to sign, plus you have to have a witness to countersign. You can’t go back and make any changes- locked and safe.
Using Visual Assay, once you get a molecule/product, you can nest all the R&D work into the clinical trial, and can take it all the way to the patient outcome if needed- all on the same platform.
When a customer buys Visual Assay; the Cloud is setup, the tablet edition is sent out, and the desktop edition is sent out. Flow libraries must be created to have current SOP’s and protocols put into Visual Assay. This will take time because Visual Assay will find errors.
TIME IS SPENT ARRANGING THE LIBRARIES WITH EACH INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMER.
